The world premiere of the new Disney action film Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides took place on Main Street inside Disneyland in Anaheim, CA last night and a veritable who’s who of big name celebs were in the hizzy for the main event. Among the biggest stars in attendance was Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Goofy, Donald Duck and others. Oh yeah, there were some Hollywood celebs at the event as well. Click below to check out some photos of Pirates stars Johnny Depp, Penélope Cruz and Geoffrey Rush with some of their celeb friends at the premiere event last night.
And with last night’s premiere we officially enter the home stretch until the film’s release. I will be seeing a preview screening of Pirates very soon and I am really excited to see what kind of trouble Captain Jack Sparrow gets into this time around. It seems like only yesterday when we were first hearing about the start of filming production for this movie last Summer … now, here we are, just days away from the film’s release. The premiere looked like it was a blast … I love that Natalie Maines brought the family out for the event … and it’s always a pleasure to see Eliza Dushku and Rick Fox at any event. Oh and I gotta say … I am LOVING Johnny Depp with his shorter hair. He really looks ready to film his cameo for the planned 21 Jump Street movie that is currently in production. But that’s another movie for another time. Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides will open in theaters on May 20 … are you ready?

Wes Bentley Has Been Cast As Seneca Crane In The Hunger Games
Um, ouch. A new report going around this week makes the claim that Guy Ritchie, ex-husband of Madonna, underwent a circumcision to have the foreskin removed from his penis so that he could be in compliance with Maddy‘s Kabbalah beliefs. Now, baby boys get circumcised all the time … but apparently, Ritchie was among the British men who was not snipped as a child. If true, it really sounds like Guy truly loved his wife a lot … enough to get part of his penis cut off.
There are many things a man would do for the woman he loves but not every man would consider losing part of his manhood. But Guy Ritchie is said to have agreed to say sayonara to his foreskin to please his then-wife Madonna. It has been claimed that [Ritchie] … was circumcised to adhere to the Material Girl’s Kabbalah beliefs. Karen Berg, a spiritual adviser to Madonna, is reported to have said that Ritchie underwent the surgeon’s knife to please his then-wife, according to New York magazine. The mother-of-two who co-founded the modern Kabbalah Centre in L.A. is reported to have said that Madonna: ‘keeps a kosher home, she observes Shabbat, she circumcised her son and had her [ex-] husband circumcised’ Madonna, who was raised Roman Catholic is said to have heard about Kabbalah for the first time at a dinner party in Los Angeles while pregnant with her daughter Lourdes. And in an article published in Israeli’s biggest daily newspaper, Yediot Ahronot in 2009, the star described being introduced to Kabbalah at a time when she ‘something was missing in my life’.
UGH! Madonna may have found something that was “missing” in her life but Guy‘s conversion to Kabbalah resulted in him losing something … very important. What’s even worse is that Guy got his penis snipped for Madonna and she STILL divorced him. It really sounds like Guy truly got the short end of the stick … quite literally. Poor thing :(

Simon Cowell To Re Launch Top Of The Pops?
He hasn't even launched the American X Factor yet, and he's already thinking of what's to come after that!
Simon Cowell is reportedly planning to revamp the iconic BBC music show, Top of the Pops, which was canceled in 2006, but this time, he wants to expand it past just the UK!
He explains:
"It's not cost effective [...]
… And the art teacher watched as the fellow student inked the 16-year-old and two other kids.
Really?!
That's pretty atrocious, to have someone who is in an authority position completely ignore the dangers that this poses. And it DID have dangers, it turns out:
Lovella Deloatch let her daughter Timisha get her grandmother's initials professionally tattooed on her arm and the words "beautiful nightmare" on her lower back.
That was before they learned Timisha is a type 1 diabetic.
"It could get infected easily, she could get gangrene easily. It wouldn't heal, it could still be bleeding and I wouldn't know because it was on the inside, she could lose a limb, anything. She might have made a bad judgement call for herself, but she's 16, the adult was supposed to have stepped in and said no."
We just don't know how this makes sense to someone who was hired to teach these kids. It's such a stupid idea. Seriously. Even the most reckless person could see it!
An investigation is under way, of course, and we'd definitely like to see something done about this!
Terrible!

The District 4 Tributes Have Been Cast In The Hunger Games
Late yesterday afternoon I started feeling … under the weather (I don’t dare use the “s” word) and it turns out that I continued to feel worse and worse as the night progressed. Because I have 3 nights of Prince concerts ahead of me, I wanted to make sure that I got as much rest as possible so that I could start feeling better. Emma, Josh and his cousin Steve came over to hang out for a bit … but all I could do is pop some meds and go to sleep.
As I was waiting for my medicine to kick in, I busted out my concert ticket album and box of concert memorabilia to reminisce about the amazing Prince shows I’ve seen over the years. I got one of Prince‘s picks at his concert at the Roosevelt Hotel back in 2007 and I’ve been collecting Prince tambourines since the mid-90s. I am happy to report that I’m feeling a bit better today so I will — hopefully — be in great shape for the concert tonight. I’ll need all my strength so I can bang the Hell out of my tambourine at the show tonight.
It’s gonna be a long night for me … after the Prince concert, I’m **hoping** to stay awake for the Royal Wedding. I’m gonna do my best to bear witness but … we’ll see. Happy Thursday, y’all!!

Entertainment Weekly Gives Us Our First Look At The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn
Before it was Britney Spears vs. Christina Aguilera, it was Tiffany vs. Debbie Gibson. Back in the late 80′s, Tiffany and Debbie battled it out for the hearts, minds and souls of pop fans as the dueling teen pop stars competed for pop supremacy. This Summer, after All This Time of wasted Electric Youth, Tiffany and Debbie Gibson will lay down their arms and perform TOGETHER for the first time ever!
Live Nation is pleased to present Debbie Gibson and Tiffany, together for the very first time, at the NYCB Theatre at Westbury on July 29 at 8 pm. Tickets are $69.50, $39.50 and $29.50 and go on sale this Friday, April 22 at 10 a.m. Tickets are available at www.livenation.com, charge by phone at 800-745-3000 or at the Westbury box office (Box Office opens at Noon). Event, date and time are subject to change. Tickets are subject to applicable service charges. For membership information, visit www.westburymembership.com
Merrick’s Debbie Gibson rose to fame while still in high school. Her debut single, “Only In My Dreams” was released in the summer of 1987 and was followed in the fall by “Shake Your Love.” Out of the Blue her debut album was released that fall and by the spring of 1988, the title track had climbed to number three on the charts. With the release of her fourth single, “Foolish Beat,” Debbie Gibson became the youngest artist to write, produce and perform a #1 single on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. ”Lost in Your Eyes,” the first single from her sophomore effort, Electric Youth became her biggest hit, staying at number one for three weeks. In addition to her recording career, Debbie Gibson has starred on Broadway in “Les Miserables” and “Beauty and the Beast.” She starred in London in the West End production of “Grease” and toured nationally in “Grease,” “Funny Girl,” and appeared at the Paper Mill Playhouse in “Gypsy.” More recently she was seen in her second SyFy film “Mega Python vs. Gatorid” with Tiffany as her co-star.
TIFFANY is back! …to her roots. The dynamic voice of the 80s has returned to where it all started for her, country music and the Nashville music scene. Now a critically praised songwriter, Tiffany is set to capture your hearts again…with her new album of country/rock tunes! Tiffany began her career at the age of 13 when she signed her first recording contract with MCA. The self-titled debut album was released in 1987 and eventually went quadruple platinum. The innovative “Mall Tour” that followed proved to be the signature for Tiffany’s early career and was very effective in targeting her core audience of young teens making Tiffany the youngest female artist to debut at number one on the Billboard charts. Tiffany produced three top ten hits, two of which were national and international #1 pop singles “Could’ve Been” and the celebrated “I Think We’re Alone Now.” The soon-to-be teen pop phenomenon, New Kids on the Block, got their big break as the opening act for her world tour. Tiffany released her second album, Hold An Old Friend’s Hand, which went double platinum and featured the top ten hit “All This Time.”
I would just DIE to see these two perform together. It’s unclear if this show is a one-off performance or if they are planning to hit the road together but if New Kids on the Block can go on tour with Backstreet Boys, then I don’t see why Tiffany and Debbie can’t do the same. In about 30 years, I full expect Britney and Xtina to do this very same thing … but for now, I’d totally settle for Tiff and Deb :D

Jake Gyllenhaals College Yearbook Photo Hits The Internets
Britney Spears‘s young sons did a big of Easter egg hunting here in SoCal yesterday with their nanny and from the looks of the photos, it would seem that they had a great time. Sean Preston and Jayden James attended the Eggstravaganza event at Grape Arbor Park in Calabasas, CA on Saturday to get into the Easter spirit. Britney did not attend with them, presumably so that the kids could play without her drawing attention to their attendance.
My guess is that the boys got to spend yesterday with their mom … but got to play with other kids at the Easter egg hunt event at the park on Saturday. The boys got to play in the petting zoo and then were able to collect Easter eggs, candy, toys, etc. during the main event. So cute, right? These are fun photos … it looks like Britney‘s little chicks really did have themselves a great Easter weekend ;)

Movie Review: Water For Elephants
Yesterday was pretty much a travel day for David and me so it wasn’t really all that exciting. After a quick Easter Egg hunt in the front yard of David’s parent’s home, we had to get our butts to the airport for our flight back to LA. Because we did have one stop on our journey, we couldn’t get home as quickly as we would’ve liked … but our layover in Cincinnati, OH did afford us a very nice Easter brunch surprise.
We found an Outback Steakhouse in the airport in Cincinnati and I was able to stuff my fave partake of a delicious plate of Aussie Cheese Fries (pronounced Aussie Chayze Froys) midway thru our journey home. Trust me … it helped make the day go by so much faster :)
We did get home early enough in the day here in LA so that we could go out for a bit … we ended up seeing a movie at the ArcLight (review forthcoming). As much fun as we had in NYC and CT all week long, nothing beats being home, sweet, home here in SoCal :)

Beyoncé Poses For Harpers Bazaar Magazine In Paris
Yesterday was David’s and my first full day here at his parent’s house in Connecticut and I’m not gonna lie … it was a very quiet day. Because we’re out in the country (ie. woods that get so dark at night that you half expect to see murderers, vampires or flesh-eating zombies roaming around in the back yard), there really ain’t much to do. For the most part, I spent a nice relaxing day reading and hanging out with David’s family. BUT, by nightfall (presumably to distract from the fact that the darkness outside looks like a horror film waiting to happen), it was time to dye Easter Eggs!
David’s family celebrates Passover and Easter so while we will be having a Seder Dinner tonight, we will be hunting for Easter Eggs tomorrow morning. Fun Fun Fun all around. We made eggs for everyone in the family as well as some of our friends (like Emma and Josh) and just had a fun time getting messy and hanging out.
The BIG fun will get started in a few hours, tho. I LOVE having Seder Dinner with David’s family. I brought some fun Passover toys and I’ll be wearing my very own yarmulke (which I procured in Berlin last month at the Jewish Museum) for the first time so … I’m excited! I’ll be sure to post photos on Twitter thruout dinner and, of course, I’ll share them here on the blog tomorrow. Happy Saturday! I hope it’s a great one for all y’all!!

I Love Lucy writer Madelyn Pugh Davis has died at 90-years-old at her home in Los Angeles.
Lucille Ball's daughter Lucie Arnaz made a lovely tribute to Madelyn, saying that her "professionalism, wit and inventiveness" were the key factors that made I Love Lucy a major success!
Such sweet words from Lucy's daughter.
Madelyn will be missed, but she'll be remembered for creating one of the best television shows of all time.

LeAnn Rimes Opens Up About Eddie Cibrian Affair
Earlier this week, we were impressed and pleased to learn that LeAnn Rimes, Eddie Cibrian, AND Eddie's ex Brandi Glanville all showed up for Eddie & Brandi's son Jake's birthday party at Chuck E. Cheese!

We can DO this!
Governor Andrew Cuomo began a campaign this week to legalize gay marriage in New York.
He's planning on using a strategy that will go on a much different path than the similar bill, which failed in the state two years ago.
Attempting to avoid poor legislative and political planning, like the first time around, Cuomo has assembled a group of A-list political strategists and several gay rights groups to back his campaign.
A spokesman for the governor says:
"This is an important issue for the administration, and the governor is committed to working with New Yorkers to get the marriage equality legislation passed."
Cuomo has made this campaign his "mission" and "feels this is part of where New York should be — at the forefront."
Ross Levi of the Empire State Pride Agenda adds:
"We are going to garner all the resources we can. A strong united community working together is going to be a great asset in accomplishing our goal."
We are proud of Andrew Cuomo's efforts to legalize gay marriage in New York. Good luck to you and all your supporters. We're rooting for you.

Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles fans of all genders, rejoice! When it comes to relationships, Thomas Dekker is open to anything.
The Terminator: TSCC/Heroes/Nightmare on Elm Street actor opened up about his sexuality during a recent interview and had the following to say about it:
"I've only really had relationships with women, but I'm certainly not closed to it. If there are possibilities of being able to do anything in life, why would you say you would never take any up?"
"In the later chunk of my teen years I was so all over the place with sex. It was terrible. I never really had a real relationship at all. During puberty, it's all about sex, and it's all about figuring yourself out. I think I overdid it when I was younger."

Reuters Reports That The iPhone 5 Will Be Released In September
As I mentioned earlier, David and I went to the Neil Simon Theater on Broadway to see the new musical production of Catch Me If You Can (read my review HERE) and then afterward, met up with our good friends Marissa and Isaac for a late dinner at the Landmarc inside the Time Warner Center in Columbus Circle. Because our time here in NYC this week is limited and jam-packed with stuff to do, our hang out session with Marissa and Isaac last night was our only chance to see one another … so we really made the most of our time together.
I was very surprised and happy to see that the Time Warner Center has on display quite a few sculpture pieces created by Salvador Dalí. It was all I could do to keep from running around the whole place snapping pics of all the amazing pieces. Here is one photo I did take of one of Dalí‘s famous melting clocks:
Marissa and Isaac are truly 2 of my fave people on Earth so it was a pleasure, as always, to hang out with them. There was talk that one or both of them **may** come visit us in Connecticut this weekend at David’s parent’s house … but as much as I really would LOVE that, I’m not sure if it will actually happen. Still, we did have a blast last night.
This afternoon, David and I are seeing a matinee of Daniel Radcliffe‘s new Broadway show How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying (which we are both very excited to see) and then tonight, I’m meeting up with my darling Irene to see PJ Harvey in concert at Terminal 5. It’s going to be a very exciting day here in NYC. Wee!!!

Movie Review: Scream 4′
Yesterday was a really fun day for David and me. After an early showing of Scream 4 (review forthcoming), we made our way to the Gibson Amphitheater to see Janet Jackson LIVE in concert on the second night of her LA stop of her Number Ones Greatest Hits Tour. David had seen Janet twice before in concert … last night was my first … and it was AMAZINGLY fun!
Our show was no nonsense, no frills … just HIT song after HIT song for about 2 hours. The show was pretty much one big medley. In order for Janet to perform all of her hit songs — and I mean ALL of them — she had to perform them in medley format. The show started with a medley of upbeat dance songs, then cooled down with a medley of ballads before going back into more killer dance tracks. Even Janet‘s onstage dress was bare bones … jeans, a tank top and combat boots … that’s all. To be honest, I was a bit bummed that the show wasn’t a big production. I’ve seen photos from her Rhythm Nation and Velvet Rope tours and she really knows how to put on a show. This tour, tho, is all about the songs … her massive collection of hits. She did not disappoint. I was in HEAVEN singing and dancing along to all of her songs. I actually remembered and busted out the dance breakdown parts to both Miss You Much and If right there in the aisles. I had no shame, it was a blast! The show was so fun … it was an honor to see Janet live in concert :)

Mitt Romney Edges Out Rick Santorum In Michigan, Admits His Wealthy Image Hurts His Campaign
Santorum was all over Romney, but Mitt still managed to win Michigan — and also won Arizona as well.
But, in an odd moment of clarity, Mitt even said that he thinks his wealthy image has hurt his campaign! Really!
The thing is… he got a little short with the interviewer who asked him point blank if [...]

Is Miley Cyrus Engaged To Liam Hemsworth?
Yesterday was my first workout day at the gym and I gotta tell ya … I had a great workout. I haven’t signed up officially yet but I got a week-long guest pass to check out the Equinox gym to see if I want to join. Based on yesterday’s workout, I think I’m going to take the plunge. After I worked my buns off, I chilled out at home for a bit before David and I met up with our friend Gillian for a LONG overdue hang out session. She took us to the weirdest sushi restaurant on planet Earth. We had fun … lots of noisy, loud, boisterous fun.
So … since I started my half marathon training at the start of this month, I’ve been doing all of my running on the streets of my neighborhood. Altho we don’t live in a hilly area, the streets and sidewalks are not always level and, well, my runs haven’t always felt like the most satisfying things. Yesterday I ran on a treadmill and I loved almost every second of it. I managed to run for a longer time and for a longer distance than I have thus far in my training. Everything about running on a treadmill is easier … less impact, easier on the knees, etc. I ran over a 5k in less than a half hour and still could’ve run longer. I didn’t want to overdue it tho so … I capped my run at about 35 mins and almost 4 miles. I felt GREAT. I randomly ran into a friend from NYC at the gym who happens to be in town this week. I haven’t seen my bud Jeremy in far too long … it was nice catching up with him. After my workout, I spent about 20 mins sweating to death in the steam room … and I LOVED EVERY SINGLE MILLISECOND OF IT. I’m telling you, the steam room alone is enough to get me back to the gym. I’m not entirely sure I’m signing up just yet … but access to a treadmill will help with my half marathon training immensely.
Last night, David and I met up with Gillian in North Hollywood (where I used to live before David moved to LA) at a place called Tokyo Delves Sushi Bar. I’m not quite sure how to explain it … it’s a very loud sushi bar restaurant:
The atmosphere is like Spring Break on crack. The music is loud and blaring, the waitstaff is fun and boisterous and patrons are encouraged to dance on their chairs, slam back sake bombs and basically go wild. It was … an experience. I felt so bad for our waiter cuz we were THE most boring table in the house. That said, we did get up to dance when Don’t Stop Believing came on ;) We had fun … as always, with Gillian :)
It is cold and rainy today. So … I’m doing laundry … and taxes. UGH. Kill me now. I am not running at all today. I need a day off from exercise. I hope it’s warm and sunny where you are. Happy Sunday!
